Burkhart Engineering E46 M3 SMG2 Hydraulic Motor Repair Kit

Is your SMG2-equipped E46 M3 experiencing any of the following transmission symptoms:

• Dropping out of gear
• Gears no longer engaging

In most cases, the reason for this is due to a worn electric motor that drives the hydraulic pump in the hydraulic unit. The high performance Burkhart motor is a "plug & play” solution for the OE motor. It is equipped with the required pins and seals and can be pinned directly into the original BMW wiring harness using the OPTIONAL PIN TOOL. Save thousands by not having to purchase an entire new hydraulic unit.

In addition, the gap losses in the hydraulic system increase enormously at high temperatures. If many hydraulic users are active (clutch slave cylinder and transmission actuator), the hydraulic unit can no longer keep up with the pressure build-up resulting in possible error messages:

• 53 (0x35) Pressure band undershoot HE
• 55 (0x37) Hydraulic unit switch on frequency
• 56 (0x38) Hydraulic unit duty cycle
• 57 (0x39) Misuse of hydraulic unit

Burkhart Engineering High Performance hydraulic oil has been developed for this purpose. The required system pressure is built up to 25% faster than is the case with the normal Pentosin CHF 11s.
